The revival of franchise will be coming soon, but it’ll cost you $20 extra to rock out with Rock Band 4 on your Xbox One than it would for PlayStation 4. The standalone disc will not be so lonely when it comes with the purchase though.
The reason behind the upping in its price is that the Xbox One Rock Band 4 disc will come in a nicely wrapped bundle with the “Legacy Game Controller Adapter”, whether you want it or not, but it will allow you to re-use the old guitar controller you might have stored in the closet.
According to the game’s developer Harmonix, the changes made from Xbox One to Xbox 360 have made it impossible for them to allow players to make use of old sets. Thus, the game will come at $79.99 for those who prefer Microsoft’s console, and $59.99 for Sony’s. Without the extra charge, PlayStation 4 users will have no trouble getting out their old rockstar kits.
However, not everyone wants to dust off out their old guitars when the next-generation is out, so the pricing will remain the same between the two competing platforms when it comes to purchasing accessories. As such, the big, whole kit of microphone, guitar, drum set and game included will require you to pay $249.99 to properly form your band and play with the entire family or friends.
The new game and guitar only set will also be available for $129.99, so the extra $20 does not seem like such a high increase if you’re not interested in rocking out on the next-gen kit. It’s been three years since their last game, so some improvements are expected, but not officially described for the forth installment of their rhythm game.
Harmonix has also announced that it will be putting the “Legacy Game Controller Adapter” on sale separately for players who want to buy the game online.
It could be quite a fun addition to your collection, and Harmonix has just announced the addition of a few more songs to the available playlist. They include Short Skirt/Long Jacket by Cake, Arabella by Arctic Monkeys and Superunknown by Soundgarden , to add to what could already be an interesting set.
Rock Band 4 will be released on both Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4 on October 6th of this year, and has announced an entire bundle of popular bands such as The Killers, Scorpions, Avenged Sevenfold, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy, and even the more commercialized song “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars.
