We’ve long past the time when we stored all of our files on our personal computers and now Google updates Drive to organize your files saving you from the mess.
- New Drive updates include a more visible “move” button
- Organizing your files has never been easier with the drag and drop feature
- You can now save the files people have shared with you
Similar to the traditional full messy desktop where you could find nothing, now Drive from Google, a storage service could become as crowded. Of course, the difference is that you can store a lot more information and files on Drive than you could ever do on your desktop. However, you still need to organize that massive amount of data somehow.
This is why Google has updated Drive bringing a new feature that will allow you to easily organize your files by putting them in folders. All you need to do is search for them using the search tool, because given the amount of files manual searching is definitely not an option anymore. After you find what you were looking for the only thing you have to do is drag and drop the file wherever you wish.
The “move” button is located in the toolbar and it is a lot more visible than before. This means that it will take you less time to organize your files and therefore you will probably be more willing to do it before your Drive looks like an overloaded storage ‘room’.
Plus, there are also files that are not saved in Drive, but someone has shared them with you. Now, you have the option of saving those files just by previewing them and click on the “save” button from the top bar.
After that you can, of course, move the files into the appropriate folder. To help you do that, a window will pop up which will show you all of your folders, making it easier for you to quickly choose the new location for your file.
In case you’re still storing your files exclusively on your computer, you should definitely try using a cloud storage. Drive is a great tool that helps you easily store your files and makes it even easier for you to find them and move them around. So either install the app or update it to the new features and you’ll have a great place to save, find and move your files without a mess.
