Although last week most of the retailers and delivery services companies have announced that the 15th will be the last day of order to be shipped before Christmas, retail stores offer free shipping on Friday 18.
- Over 800 retailers are offering free shipping this Friday
- Americans spend more money on online shopping
- It is expected that this holiday shopping season will cost Americans about $830
With only one week to go, people are entering the final countdown of Christmas shopping. Companies offering delivery services and the post offices are doubling their work force and work time to cope with the doubling of the deliveries.
On the other hand, retailers try to make themselves and their products as attractive as possible to customers by offering many deals and discounts for a great variety of items. But that is not all. In order to help you spend a bit less money on your Christmas gifts list, retailers are also offering free shipping for all products purchased on the 18th of this month.
Of course, that sounds amazing for customers, who are now even more willing to do their Christmas shopping as soon as possible. On the other hand, it might not sound as good for delivery services which are already struggling with the holiday workload. Besides, everything purchased on the Free Shipping Day has to be delivered by Christmas Eve. If post offices and delivery services pull this through, then the magic of Christmas does exist or postmen are actually Santa’s elves in disguise.
You can find the list of retail shops that will offer free shipping on the Freeshippingday website. There are more than 840 participants, among which can be found names such as Walmart, DSW Shoe Warehouse, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods or Cabela’s.
Other great news is that there is no requirement for minimum purchase in order to get free shipping.
Of course, the start of the holiday shopping season was given by Thanksgiving. According to that weekend’s shopping reports it is estimated that Americans spent $102 million in stores and $103 million online.
It is expected that more money will be spent online than in stores for Christmas as well and according to a poll, we should be expecting Americans to spend about $830 million. This is almost $100 million more than we spent last year on shopping for Christmas.
All in all, if you want to spend a little less, you should hurry up and start ordering retailers’ products to get free shipping.
