Valve’s steam often holds these sales that are meant to lure more money out of your pocket. So far, it’s working great for them, and there’s little chance they will be slowing it down anytime soon. The good news is that gamers could find some very good deals if they browse carefully enough.
With a bit of luck and timing, there are a few tempting offers. Halloween is one of them, to follow after the famous Summer Sale, or perhaps the one that will likely arrive on Christmas. This year, Steam is promoting and cutting down on prices for several games. Some have the “spooky” factors, others have little to do with the horror genre, but are nonetheless welcome.
For one, the Halloween Steam sale remains in tune with this end of the month’s theme. Games such as ‘Left 4 Dead 2’, ‘Resident Evil’, ‘Alien: Isolation’, ‘Outlast’, ‘Dead Realm’, and ‘SOMA’, all have relatively decent price cuts. Plus, ‘Dying Light’, which has proven itself to be an overall successful, fun, and a bit frightening game. It’s now up for $29.99 for those who want to venture in a world full of zombies and a protagonist trained in parkour.
Other big names include the BioShock series, including BioShock ‘Infinite’, which doesn’t necessarily have a lot of horror elements, but it’s an excellent experience nonetheless. The dystopian world in the sky provides with enough thrills on its own. And, it’s arguably one of the most memorable games in the series, now at $7.49.
‘The Witcher’ series have also seen a slash in their prices. Gamers can explore the world in the role of Geralt, and fight off a few monsters and creatures that could be considered odd and scary. The latest release of the franchise, ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’, is now available for $41.99 to provide an ample gaming experience with excellent graphics and intricate storyline.
‘Grand Theft Auto V’ is also on the list of big titles that have seen a discount. While it’s certainly not spooky per se, it will feature some “special Halloween treats”. This will include “ghastly new vehicles”, masks, face paint, and a new Adversary Mode. It’s now 33% off for those waiting for a cheaper opportunity to play in Los Santos.
There are 75 pages worth of games to explore through, rounding up their number at almost 1,000 of them to browse. The Halloween Steam sale will last until November 2nd, so you have a few days to think about it.
