Perhaps Amazon had jumped the gun a little bit, but the tales of Minecraft: Story Mode get a release date if the website is to be believed, in spite of its developer not saying a word to confirm it. It had also revealed an interesting new strategy that Telltale Games might be adopting to release the sandbox, brick-building game.
According to the popular commercial website, the physical copy of Minecraft: Story Mode will be officially released on October 27th in North America, with an October 30th launch in the United Kingdom. This comes as a bit of a surprise, considering Telltale Games often resorts to a different pattern.
Usually, the game developer releases digital copies first of each episode, before they announce a disk to adorn the shelves of those interested in collecting them. For those not in the know, Telltale games has an interestingly unique method of launching their story-based games.
They release one “episode” at a time with just one part of the storyline, and after an average of six episodes, they conclude the “season”, and hopefully start working on the second season the following year. However, not all successful franchises have seen the same continuation.
The game developer has launched highly entertaining games, like the thrilling “Fables: A Wolf Among Us”, which had fans nearly begging for a second season with no confirmed news so far, “The Walking Dead”, and “Game of Thrones” that is fortunately confirmed to receive a sequel.
Telltales will also be famously taking on others, such as “Back to the Future” and “Jurassic Park”, both highly anticipated by fans of the developer’s gameplay style.
Minecraft has seen excellent popularity among PC users that has eventually resulted in its release on consoles. The numerous downloadable content and endless building possibilities have made it an incredibly successful game in spite of its simplicity and pixelated graphics. And now, it’s even getting its own story mode done by a developer who is famous for its beautifully crafted storylines.
Minecraft: Story Mode has gathered up an excellent cast of voice actors for its latest adventure, which will feature the protagonist and his group of friends set on a dangerous journey to save their world. In keeping in line with the developer’s style, it will likely ask the player to make heavily important decisions that will influence how the hero will progress.
The videogame will be released on virtually all platforms you might think of, ranging from the older PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to the newer PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Wii U, PC, Mac, and even on Android and iOS devices later on.
While Minecraft does not quite seem like the world to hide the greatest of mysteries or complex characters, Telltale Games’ incredible reputation will account for something, and fans of their gameplay are likely waiting for them to work their magic in this new adventure.
