President Donald Trump took to Twitter Monday morning to slam the restaurant Red Hen in Lexington, VA, for kicking out the White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
The President believes that a location with “filthy canopies, doors, and windows” is certainly filthy “on the inside” too.
Trump tweeted that the restaurant owners should better focus on cleaning the place and giving it a paint job rather than booting a “fine person like Sarah Huckabee Sanders.”
I always had a rule, if a restaurant is dirty on the outside, it is dirty on the inside!”
the U.S. Commander in Chief tweeted.
Over the weekend, Sarah Sanders went to the Red Hen with her family, but the owner told her she was not welcome there since she works for the Trump administration. The owner was upset that the official defended Trump’s comment on transgender people in the military.
Waters Adds Fuel to the Scandal
Shortly after, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) encouraged other businesses to sanction the members of the Trump administration in a similar way. Waters urged not only business owners, but local people too to “create a crowd” around these officials whenever they see them in public and inform them that they are no longer welcome.
Waters have repeatedly pushed for Trump’s impeachment but with no success. The president responded to the California Democrat’s call to harassment by blasting her as an “extraordinarily low IQ” person.
- It wasn’t immediately clear if the nation’s chief executive had ever dined at the controversial restaurant.
- Red Hen said that it passed the health inspection earlier this year without issues.
Sanders told the press that she “politely left” the restaurant when she was asked to leave. She added that the owner’s attitude speaks volumes about the owner. The Red Hen’s yelp page was soon flooded with negative reviews.
